As the Human Resources Administrator, you will have an in-depth knowledge of HR laws, compliance and benefits administration. Your main administrative duties will include maintaining personnel records, managing HR documents (e.g. employment records and onboarding guides) and updating internal databases. Ideally, you will have experience with HR procedures and can multitask various administrative duties in a timely manner. You will assist with the hiring and onboarding of new employees, mediating internal conflicts, and educating our employees on their benefit options with the company. Ultimately, you must be able to ensure our HR department supports our employees while confirming to labor laws.

Based in Humboldt County, CA

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize and maintain personnel records according to regulation requirements

  • Update internal databases with relevant employee information (e.g. record sick leave or time off)

  • Prepare HR documents and new hire guides

  • Liaise with external partners, like insurance vendors, and ensure legal compliance

  • Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules)

  • Stay up-to-date on all labor laws and compliance regulations

  • Provide necessary and appropriate employee training

  • Mediate internal conflicts between employees

What You'll Need

  • B.S. in Human Resources or proven track record as an HR Administrator, HR Administrative Assistant or other relevant role

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both in-person and across digital platforms

  • Demonstrated self-management skills — ability to work independently while staying up-to-date with company operations

  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize important projects

  • Computer proficiency (Google Suite and Microsoft Word)
